Dear Helen,

I’ve been thinking about you lately wondering how you are doing. Thought it was time to drop you a note again.

I think about how supportive you have been of the Easterlings for all these years. You were a friend when we were all together at Briggs and we’ve always felt your friendship since we parted 27 years ago.  I’m interested in knowing just how you are doing.

I retired as of January 1 and it sure feels good. I might do some other work in the future but for right now it feels so good to do some of the things I’ve put off for years and also to spend more time with Jeri and other love ones.

Jeri and I still live in New York. Our new address is 162 East 102 St.  Apt 2   New York, NY 10029. our new phone # is 212 876 0537.  My email address is do1936@aol.com

Our new apartment is cozy and even though we haven’t opened up all our boxes yet we’re feeling more and more comfortable here. We live three blocks from Central Park and both of us love it. One can go into the park and not even know they live in the city.

Suzy is doing fairly well up in New Hampshire. As you might know she lost her little son Cray just before Christmas. He was profoundly disabled and had been sick for a long time but it is still such a painful thing. She and hubby Larry are building a new home up on a mountain. Their other two girls are doing just fine.

Mikey and wife Stacie live on a farm north of Atlanta. He has his own small business and ultimately he and Stacie hope to open a kennel.

Scott is healthy and happy down in Ft Worth TX with his wife Estelle. He has two teen age step children…a boy and a girl. They will be coming up to visit us in June.

Jimmy lives in New Hampshire now not far from Suzy. He’s a cook at a large ski area and seems to enjoy it.  For years he lived in and around D.C. but likes it much better out in the mountains.

All of the kids are still avid skiers.

Helen, I think about you with a very thankful heart. Jeri and I send our love.

Sincerely,
