Dear Jim,
Sure was good to talk to you this week. I appreciate your call. And it’s good to hear that you are happy with your new situation. Living in the mountains is a lot different than living in the city. The environment is so much more beautiful and the pace so much slower. No matter where we are, city or mountains, we still have to face ourselves. But sometimes it’s easier when we’re in a more peaceful setting.
I’m glad your new job at Peter Christian’s is working out well. They put out good food there, so I would think you can take pride in being part of a quality place. Also I’m happy that you’ve found a place to live in that you will feel good about. The rent sounds pretty steep to me, but I guess you think that you can do it by picking up some more part time work. Good luck.
My heart is with you as you attempt to deal with your addictions to alcohol and pot. It’s possible but I can’t imagine you breaking these addictions without seeking other support like AA, NA, etc. You’ve tried it on your own now for almost three decades without success. I do have the feeling that this might very well be the time when you make your breakthrough. You’ve got my love and my prayers, Jim.
Jeri and I had a great time on our vacation. We spent 8 days on the Isle Verde beach in Puerto Rico, then we were on an island hopping cruise for 8 more days. We spent time on St. Thomas, Dominica, Barbados and Aruba. Jeri and I made the trip to celebrate our 20th Anniversary. We’re both grateful and happy. Now, we’re back and working hard like everybody else. I’m grateful that I have a good job to come back to and live in such a great city.
As you can see I’m sending this letter to your Mom’s address. As soon as you have a new one, send it to me so I can send letters to you there.
Love you son. Jeri sends her love too.
