Dear Bobby,

Thank you for your recent letter informing me of my selection as a Distinguished Alumnus of North Dallas High School. I feel greatly honored and humbled by this.

I had three unforgettable years at North Dallas and after graduation I attended college and subsequently went to three graduate schools. But as good as my further educational experiences were, in a sense none measured up to what I learned and received from the teachers, coaches and my peers at North Dallas. This is what makes this selection so touching to me.

My wife Jeraldine and I will plan to be at the class banquet on September 29.  In the near future I will send you a copy of the photograph which you have requested.

Please convey my heartfelt appreciation to the Distinguished Alumni Awards Committee.
