July 2007

Dear Friends,

I have been thinking a great deal about MABC recently. Susan communicates with me occasionally keeping me informed about the church plus I pour over the Messenger when I receive it. I regretted that Jeri and I couldn’t attend Susan’s Installation Service due to the change of date from March to May in which we already had travel plans. From the sound of it, the service and reception was very special.

My thoughts have often been with those of you who have serious physical problems like Donovan, Sophia and Faith and some of the rest of you who are certainly no strangers to sickness and pain. Please know that you have my prayers and best wishes.

It’s encouraging to know of some of the outreach efforts that are being done and also to learn of the positive financial, property and business ideas being undertaken. I am very impressed with the new format for the Messenger and the continued development of the church website. Also I had occasion to come into the Parish House recently and was so pleased to see how well the building is being kept from top to bottom.

Jeri and I have settled into our new lives and we’re very content. While with MABC we threw ourselves fully into life with you and now we are doing that on our new path.  Even though I am not employed now, I find that my days are just about as busy as ever. Eventually I will probably do volunteer work or work part time somewhere but for now I have been basking in my free time, reading more, writing more, doing more personal computer work, going to more Broadway shows and communicating better with love ones spread out all over the USA. Also I have more time to play my new Martin guitar. Probably in fifteen or twenty years I will be ready to perform in public. (just kidding).

And as some of you know, Jeri and I are traveling more now. In March we spent time with family in Georgia and we spent most of May in Puerto Rico. In July we’ll go up to visit Suzy and her family in New Hampshire. Then in August we’ll visit my family in Texas and Jeri’s family in Southern California. It’s such a luxury for us to be able to spend more time with loved ones.

Speaking of family, Suzy and Larry are doing well, all things considered. They will never get over little Cray’s death, but they are moving on with their lives focusing their love on their little girls Cameron and Lausen. As I write this letter their new mountaintop home “Starswept Farm” is being completed.

In Texas Carol continues to recover from her quintuple by-pass surgery down in Austin. She’s working at her old job again. Aunt Ruthie (age 88) has been an indispensable nurse and friend to her during her rehabilitation.

As much as we have jumped into our new lives, you will always hold a very large, special place for you in our hearts. The good times we experienced with you are uncountable. The love and ministries we shared will never be forgotten.

Love and Peace,

P.S.  Please let us know if you sent us a card or gift last December. When we moved, some were unopened and lost. (long story)
