It’s hard to believe that it’s been almost two months since Jeri and I returned from Ireland.

As I mentioned to each of you, we had a terrific time over there.  Ireland is not only a beautiful place, but it also has such colorful people and a dramatic history.  I hope that each of you takes the opportunity to go there sometime.  As you know Jeri and I make trades with people…our Manhattan apartment for their homes or apartments.  It’s been a great deal for us, enabling us to stay places which we probably otherwise wouldn’t be able to stay in.  If we are also able to apply some frequent flyer miles to our trips,  we can come out of these jaunts very cheaply.  This has been a great development for us.

Well, we’re back now doing our thing here in the Big Apple.  Jeri ran the Church Flea Market last weekend.  We made out very well.  The money primarily goes to support the church’s work with the homeless and also the elderly.  I was very proud of Jeri…she did a great job.

As for me I’m doing my regular stuff with the church again.  We are also planning an extended construction and beautification program of the church property.  It will last over five years and cost quite a bit.  By the end of the project, all of the property should look much nicer.  This, plus another big project mean I’m going to be pretty busy here for the next few years. I might be gone from here before these projects are completed, but at least I can help them get started.

I was able to get up to see Suzy, Larry and Cameron a few weeks ago.  I can’t tell you how darling little Cameron is.  She smiles a lot, eats a lot, poops a lot, and from what Suzy tells me now,  she sleeps a lot.  Oh I forgot to tell you, Cameron is very fond of me.  She wants to be with me a lot, and gives me this look like she thinks I’m very special.

So far, we have no special plans for either Thanksgiving or Christmas/New Year.  Right now it looks like we’re going to lay low.  I don’t think Carol is coming up. I hope each of you know that you are welcome to visit during those times.  We would love to see you if it would be possible for you.

Along another line, Jeri and I definitely plan to visit each of you in the coming year.  It could be in the Spring right after Easter, but more likely it will be sometime during the summer. I want to spend several days in New Hampshire,  Georgia and Texas. While down in Texas, I’ll also plan to see Bubba’s kids around the Ft. Worth area.

Speaking of Texas and Georgia and New England, sorry about what the Yankees did to the Rangers, the Red Sox and the Braves.  Here in New York we were hoping that it would be a subway series, but it wasn’t to be. Maybe next year as if any of you guys care.

My prediction for the Superbowl…Miami 24-Cowboys 17.

My prediction for the NBA…LA over Pacers in 6 games.

Speaking of movies”Mumford” is a gentle good one. “Happy Texas” is nutty but fun. “Giving Up the Dead” is pretty rough but extremely well done. (about EMS drivers over on the West Side of Manhattan).

This is about the best time of year here in the Big Apple. It’s nice and cool and sunny a lot of the time.  Wish it would stay this way.
