Hi Bob,

Good to hear you are plugging away at your Paros book.  And thanks for sending me the information about Kostas. I plan to email him and see where it leads us. Jeri and I are starting to talk about a one-month trip in 2010 including Athens especially Paros.

Concerning Archilocus, I’m not familiar with him but will plan to read about him and some of his poems now that you have mentioned him. You said you looked around on Paros for some ancient sites relating to him yet you didn’t find them. When we get to Paros, maybe I’ll pick up the hunt.

I finally read Kite Runner. What a book. I can’t forget it. I’m reading Marquez’ The General in His Labyrinth at present.  Also Waiting for Godot is currently playing on Broadway starring Nathan Lane and Bill Irwin. I’m not sure I’ll go see it but I have checked out a copy of Beckett’s plays so I’ll at least read it again. Congratulations to Sandy in winning the competition at the art show. It

sounds like she has some good days ahead in September in Venice. Jeri and I will go back to Italy although we’re not exactly sure when at this point.

I’m actually coming to Austin this week to see my sister and aunt.  We will not come up your way but plan to drive to Frio and Blanco and also eat way too much barbeque.

The Yankees continue to break my heart. It amazes me that a team with so much money still can’t get good pitching.  I’m pulling for Joe Torres and the Dodgers out in LA.  Also the Mavs, although it seems that at 0-3 with the Nuggets they are pretty much dead now. Houston is showing a lot of toughness with LA.

My best to you and Sandy.

Mike
