To Whom It May Concern
I have known Michele Grimes for years. While she was attending New York Theological Seminary she did her Student Internship in the church which I serve. She did an excellent job as our Intern, then she became the Director of our Homeless Shelter for almost two years. As Shelter Director she not only worked actively with the homeless but she also supervised 35 volunteers who worked within the program. It’s a difficult job and Michelle handled it very well. She has a great heart for those in need and was willing to do the hard work required in regard to administration and programming.
Michele has excellent leadership ability but she also has a good ability to work when she’s not the leader. She is a very independent type but she can work well in a team setting.
Before she came to work at the Madison Avenue Church I asked several of her professors for recommendations. I received strong recommendations from all of them. One professor in particular mentioned that Michele had a great ability to listen, to learn and to grow. After knowing and working with Michele now for several years I can say exactly the same thing.
She also has a good ability to admit it when she is wrong. She has a strong personality yet there’s a real good humility about her.
I never have worked with Michele in a purely academic setting but I feel she has a good mind and will study and work on projects as long as they take. If she has a project put in front of her which is demanding for her, she is a real plugger…she digs in until the task gets done.
She also has good common sense.
For these reasons and for others not mentioned I can highly recommend her for the degree program at Hunter. If you have other questions and if I can be of further assistance to you in this matter, please let me know.
Respectfully,
