Dear Bob,
I’ve been thinking about you lately and think it’s time to check in again. I’ve been wondering how you are doing and especially if your throat ever healed up completely. Also if you are holding your own with the joint problems you have had. I hope you are finding the right stretches and exercises and the right medications to hold it at bay. I also wonder how Sandy’s painting projects are coming along. Is she having any showings? Are you guys traveling and do you have any plans for Paros in the future?
Currently Jeri is out in California again with her Mom who still recognizes Jeri and her other kids but not many beyond them. She can’t walk but likes to be pushed around in a wheelchair. It’s really difficult for Jeri to watch her decline even though her Mom is basically content on most days.
As for me I’m holding my own with neuropathy and the effects of all the wear and tear on my feet and legs. I bump around NYC and use a cane on bad days. I’ve almost given up the idea of visiting Paros. Based on what you have written it seems that I would need to do a lot of walking there and I don’t think the ups and downs and uneven surfaces would be very user-friendly to me. But if you’ll continue to send me your writings about Paros I can at least fantasize about it. J and I continue to travel some and will make our annual trek to Puerto Rico again this Sept for a month. The walking is easy there plus I have access to an Olympic size pool just in front of our front door, Also the beach is just about 50 yards from the place we rent.
J and I continue to love NYC. She’s an avid Broadway and Museum enthusiast and I follow her on most some of her jaunts. Sometimes she has to drag me but mostly I’m happy that I’ve gone with her. Recently I joined her in a visit to the Met to see a great Matisse exhibition. Also to a performance by Judy Collins and to a dramatic rendition of some of Abe Lincoln’s speeches. Judy is still great and Lincoln’s speeches were moving. I am of the definite opinion that Abe was a genius and a great cut above most of us poor mortals.
Well, that’s it for now. Let me know how you’re doing and write when you can. Give my best to Sandy.
Mike
