AMTRAK   WRC to NYC

Dear Suzy and Larry,

Thanks so much for making me feel so welcome. I had a great time with you guys and of course with your cherubs. My stay there didn’t end up exactly like I had intended but it was clear to me that I needed to come home.

Jeri is closer to Tony and Carmen than most people are to their parents. All the doctors are trying to do now is ease his pain with morphine…they’re not trying to do any chemo or radiology at this point. Hospice personnel will be visiting his home and watching over him. Jeri wants to see Tony while he’s still conscious, which is understandable. We’ll fly out to California on this Thursday to see him. Frequent flyers sure come in handy at times.

Suzy, as I’ve told you before, one of the things we can do for you guys is keep the kids on occasion. If you give us enough warning we can arrange our schedules. With the kind of schedules you two keep and the kind of pressures you have to deal with, it’s obvious that you two need to have times when you are just taking care of each other.

Also, enclosed is a check for $500 to help you with Cray’s super carriage. It’s great how adjustable the carriage is and how much support it gives to him. Jeri and I are glad we can help you with this.

For us August is pretty much up for grabs now. We were due to go to Kirkridge for a few days mid month but that will have to be cancelled. I’ll still try to spend a couple of days in DC trying to connect with Jim but I’m not sure when that will be now.

Suzy, concerning your coming down to NY on the Labor Day weekend…Jeri and I feel good about you coming on that weekend. We will look forward to it.  The only thing that could throw a monkey wrench into it would be if Tony dies and we have to go to California for his funeral.
