Flying saucer

launched by a pot-hole

flashing in front of the beltway armada,

trajecting the shoulder

lasering through the salt toughened weeds

captured by a force field of nettles and ivy,

falling face down

doomed now only for the eyes of

creeping critters.

 

As you were spinning along on that Seville

so dazzling,                                                                                                  

did you ever imagine that it would end this way?
