Yesterday Susan, Jeri and I had lunch at Under the Bridge Cafe.  We sat outside so we might take in the Eclipse of the sun. While there Jeri was able to buy protective glasses from a passer by.  Each of us looked at the amazing eclipse. Then Jeri offered the glasses to others passing by so they could observe it. She stood on the corner for a long time and offered the glasses to at least 50 people…blacks, whites, Asians, Hispanics, Middle- Easterners, adults, children, the elderly, folks in wheel chairs and walkers, rich, poor, Christians, Muslims in burkas, a Muslim man praying as he looked at what he called a “miracle”, messengers, waitresses, restaurant owners.

A slice of humanity gazing in awe, and my Jeri, just doing what she does.
