It’s getting dark

and it’s not Ann Miller and the Easter Parade coming by

but it ain’t bad.

Receptionists, computer pros and medical types

making their way home,

others walking happy doggies,

weekenders pulling their cases to grab taxies for LaG and JFK .

Over at TONIC the boys and girls gather for Buds and sangrias beginning their TGIFs,

the TV’s are all about scoring whether it be the Giants or Jets

and for the boys and girls it’s the same, and some in fact might.

I’m scoring here on my front stoop drinking Grey Goose, my 74 year old version of a night out

while Engine #16, siren blaring, charges up 3rd Ave.,

while Jeri makes her way home, trying to make sense of her mom

in a nursing home

getting closer and closer to the dark.
