Actually a famous man once said: “Lord, I don’ mind if you take me. Just don’t take me in pieces.”

I’m not sure how the Lord answered the man or how he died.

I’ve said the same thing to the Lord and I sure know how She’s answering me. Or maybe She just doesn’t hear me.

For example:

I had a severe accident as a child which badly lacerated my left calf.

I have advanced neuropathy in my feet and legs which greatly affects my balance.

I’ve had operations to repair both of my knees and had to have invasive surgery on my left thigh.

I’ve had torn rotator cuffs in each of my shoulders.

I have arthritis in my elbows, hands and knees.

I’ve taken falls and damaged three vertebrae. Also I have several herniated disks.

I’ve had an abdominal hernia.

I have cataracs in my eyes.

I’ve lost  hearing in each ear.

I have an enlarged prostate and a problem with my bladder.

I’ve had two broken legs

I have severe cramping at times in my legs.

I’ve got bed-sores on my butt which don’t want to heal.

I’m a TYPE 2 diabetic and take a lot of meds for it. (I’m thankful for good insurance.

I have chronic vertigo.

I’m up three of four times each night, never sleeping the whole night through.

I have moderate acid reflex problems.

I have high blood pressure and high cholesterol.

I’m an inch shorter.

My body has almost completely changed. It’s like an alien came in and took me over.

But I stiil love life and try to live it fully every day.

I’m still very active. I still have a keen curiousI mind.

I still have a full head of hair.

I look forward to each day and am involved in many activities and projects.

I have my dear wife who loves me even though I’m a physical wreck and not the man that she married.

I have children who love me dearly.

Some of my dearest family members have passed on but I have other loving family members still living.

I’ve lost some of my dearest friends but I’m thankful there are others still around.

But back to my point. My body seems to be failing piece by piece by piece.

Every single day.

Lord?
